Department Overview

A nurse at University Fertility Consultants (UFC) contributes to the planning and implementation of the patient’s plan of care.  This position coordinates the essential components of a patient’s treatment, delegates and coordinates day-to-day scheduling and screening tests, and under the supervision of licensed personnel, provides routine task delivery and service to clinic patients consistent with the patient care philosophy of the University Hospitals and Clinics and University Fertility Consultants (UFC).  This position serves as the patient’s main point of contact at UFC throughout the fertility process.  Of particular importance is the ability to provide consistent and outstanding customer service to these patients, encouraging consistency and excellent coordination of care.

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations.   • 2-year experience in outpatient women’s Health or primary care clinic.  This includes coordinating care for patients from beginning of treatment, following patient through to after treatment completed.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills with patients.
  • Ability to type 60 WPM
  • Ability to delegate to appropriate person(s).
  • Ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work in busy clinic setting with many daily interruptions.

Required Qualifications

  • BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
  • ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
  • Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • BLS must not expire during orientation
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Length of Orientation – Experienced Nurse

  • External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.
  • Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area. An employment service agreement may apply.
