This position plays a vital role in assuming primary responsibility for and provides direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory Recovery, Pre-operation and Post-operation areas of Oregon Health & Sciences University. Ambulatory Surgery Department at the Center for Health and Healing and Multnomah Pavilion. The Perioperative Services use a primary practice model of care, Primary practice, pre-operative, phase I and II recovery and electroconvulive therapy (ECT).
The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patient's needs, develops the plan of care, implements and evaluates nursing care, provides education and consultation of staff, students, patients and the community. The CHH Perianesthesia Unit is a department within Perioperative Services within the Nursing Division. There are 15 Operating room within the surgical department, as well as a GI Unit and Minor Procedure Unit. The daily average volume of patient procedures performed ranges between 30-70 patients in all areas, Monday through Friday. The mission of the department is to provide exemplary, cost-effective care to the procedural and surgical patient, and to serve as a role model for patient care in the Pacific Northwest. This position requires working/floating within the perioperative services units.
Current RN experience in an ambulatory procedure Pre-op
and Phase I and II recovery.
