Department Overview

The Interventional Radiology practice at OHSU has a primary location at the 11A Angiography Proce-dural Lab, at CHH2, and an ambulatory clinic in the Physicians Pavilion. The Practice cares for primarily adult patients with a wide variety of diseases requiring image guided interventions and management. The Practice RN is a key member of the multi-disciplinary patient care team, which includes physician, advance practice providers, medical assistant, schedulers, and other clinical and management support staff.

Function/Duties of Position

Interventional Radiology Nurse Navigator role is to act as a comprehensive patient follow-up resource and support for procedural and clinical intersections. The Nurse Navigator ensures evidenced-based and goal-directed patient education & proper follow-up planning/management for interventional therapies we provide through our department. This role also acts as a liaison between post-procedure outpatient needs & provider supported intervention, including triage of urgent or emergent post-procedure complications.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years nursing experience in the inpatient setting with a complex medical or surgical focus or in ambulatory or community-based setting working with chronically ill or medically complex patients
  • BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
  • ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
  • Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • BLS must not expire during orientation
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

 

 

Additional Details

Length of Orientation – Experienced Nurse

  • External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week.
  • Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience for 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area. An employment service agreement may apply.
