Department Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse with proficiency in pediatric PeriAnesthesia care to cross-train into the pediatric intra-procedural Cardiac Cath program, which will transition to the new Hybrid OR opening in February 2026. Training will occur in the OHSU Cardiac Cath Lab and is estimated to take 4¿6 months to ensure competency prior to launch. Doernbecher PeriAnesthesia is a fast-paced, patient- and family-centered department caring for pediatric patients from neonates to young adults. Services include ambulatory and inpatient care, urgent and emergent surgeries, after-hours sedation, and prolonged procedural recoveries. Our nurses practice in alignment with ASPAN standards and evidence-based care, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, role clarity, and professional growth. The Doernbecher Operating Room is a high-acuity pediatric surgical environment with 10 operating rooms, including a Hybrid OR for advanced image-guided interventions and an intraoperative MRI (iMRI) suite supporting complex neurosurgical and specialty cases. Multidisciplinary teams collaborate to deliver safe, efficient, and developmentally appropriate care for every patient.
