The OHSU Doernbecher Fetal Care Program offers comprehensive care for pregnancies complicated by conditions and disorders primarily affecting the fetus. Our multidisciplinary team of experts provides advanced diagnostics, genetic testing, treatments, and services, ensuring that both pregnant individuals and babies receive the best possible care. It is the only program in Oregon to offer such specialized care.
At the heart of our approach is a comprehensive care model, where diagnosis, treatment, delivery, and recovery all take place in one location. This continuity of care enhances convenience and ensures that all pregnant individuals and babies are supported every step of the way. We utilize advanced technologies, such as state-of the-art ultrasound, MRI, genetic screening and fetal monitoring, to provide accurate diagnostics and minimize risks.
Our team includes specialists in maternal, fetal, and newborn medicine, as well as experts in areas like genetics, heart care, and fetal surgery, allowing us to provide a highly collaborative and holistic approach to each patient’s care.
The OHSU Doernbecher Fetal Care Program provides compassionate, expert care in a supportive environment, making it a leading choice for those seeking exceptional maternal and fetal care in the Pacific Northwest.
The Nurse Coordinator provides effective care coordination for pregnant patients with fetal anomalies and
genetic conditions. They are responsible for the active and transition management of patients throughout
their care in the Fetal Care Program. The Nurse Coordinator ensures the patients enter the OHSU system and
have coordination and education support throughout their complete pregnancy care episode. This work is
patient facing in both the clinic setting, and other locations where fetal care patients are cared for, working to coordinate complex care across consulting services.
The Nurse Coordinator is expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. The Nurse Coordinator participates in the clinic, department, program, multidisciplinary teams and committees and is expected to initiate and/or actively participate in quality improvement projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
